[TravelPod.com TravelStreamâ™ ”” Recent Entries at TravelPod.com] Dracula, mid-evil Knights and stuffed cabbage - Transylvania ...: The big draw in Transylvania is Bran Castle, the supposed home of Vlad Temples (Dracula) for a brief time. Everyone I spoke with said that the more authentic castle was Peles, as Bran was home to Dracula t-shirts and too many tourists with video cameras.

[Uploads from Nathan Bergeron Photography] When in ROMania on Flickr - Photo Sharing!: This castle looks absolutelybeautiful! I have always wanted to visitRomania but more for the ancient ruins andthe more untouched way of life, I didn'trealize there were such architecturaltreasures as this.

Right around the church runs a wall of up to 5 meters in width and 15 meters in height, at the inside clad with emergency housing and storages, at the outside fortified like a tiny medieval castle, with watchtowers moat and pull up bridge in some cases.

[TravelPod.com Recent Updates] Land of Dracula - Brasov, Romania Travel Blog: He had just ended a medical mission to flood refugees in northern Romania and was now touring around. We decided to explore the town together and visited all of the main sites in one day including the black tower, white tower, the narrowest street in Europe, several churches, the main square and finally we took a big hike up to the top of the mountain overlooking the city.

[Travel Blog | Travel Journals, Diaries and Photos] Road trip in Romania: We had rented a car, a true Romania "automobil" Dacia Logan 1.4 MDI, from Active Rent a Car (www.active-rentacar.ro). It wasn't a sports car but served its purpose and had an AC, the most wanted accessory during this hot summer season in Romania!

[The Departure Lounge] Romania - The Departure Lounge: We took a day trip to the stunning Bran castle (often referred to as Dracula's castle, when in fact he's most likely never set foot in it) and spent most of our days planning our next meals. We're embarrassed to say that most nights we didn't make it past our local restaurant whose sausages and cabbage dishes were highly rated, even amongst the Irish in our group.

[TravelPod.com Recent Updates] Next story, next country - Crisan, Romania Travel Blog: I ended my last story with the wine from Eger and we really enjoyed Eger (no, not only because of the wine ;-) It’s a lovely small, pitoresque, bit touristy town with a beautiful castle and beautiful views over town. We did a little bit of pre-wine tasting in the evening and the next afternoon we went to the cellars to buy some bulls blood what the region is famous for and a can with normal local wine.

[LaFrae Blog O Love] Rhythm Road #2 Brasov! - this is why I make music « LaFrae Blog O Love: Food was the first order of business!  Fortunately a terrific restaurant was in the basement of our hotel which used to be a part of a tunnel system built by the Romans.  The food was fantastic.  I had a traditional beef dish (that was not salty..I avoid salt) and some grilled trout that was wonderful.  They also gave us complimentary shots of “Romanian Whiskey” made from plums.  I politely toasted and then didn’t drink the shot although I tried some later by accident (explanation coming)

[Travel Blog | ICELilly] Oh, how I miss Carpaty!: Next day the guys went to Bran while Eoin and me continued our journey, together, suddenly … He was supposed to take the earlier train than me but I woke up earlier than I thought, caught him at the station so we took the same one to Bucharest.
