[TravelPod.com Recent Updates] Somewhere it has to go wrong you would say…After a day hiking in the mountains and a camp party with a huge Romanian family who didn’t speak any English (lot’s of fun, huge camp fire, loud traditional Balkan music and dancing again) we had to take the ferry to cross the river. The crew wanted us to park in a normal car spot and as many of you know our van is not the kind of normal sized car…I think Angelique did very well but unfortunately she scratched the car of two ladies and that the whole ferry and surrounding heard loud and clear!

[Making Light] Making Light: Pearls of great price, not to be devalued: One summer -- more than half my lifetime ago, now I think about it -- I took a month-long road/ferry trip to Iceland with a bunch of strangers. (I was braver, or more foolish, or simply younger than I am now.) There are many things I remember about that trip: the scorching summer weather;

[Horizons Unlimited Motorcycle Travellers Ezine, for all the latest news from Travellers around the world, from Antarctica to Zanzibar!] www.HorizonsUnlimited.com e-zine, The Motorcycle Travellers' News ...: It seems as if there are 4x4s that go from Obok to the border most days—but Sunday and Wednesday would be your best bet as the ferry from Djibouti arrives then—but they seem to leave in the afternoon (although this might just have been the day I was there). The route from Obok to the border is across sandy plains that have lots of tracks—all heading off in different directions—I took a guide with me on the back of the bike since I was riding alone and didn't want to wait until the afternoon and follow one of the 4x4s.

[Travel] The Sydney Morning Herald Blogs: Travel: Upon finding the shallow hole that looked as if it was dug with a back hoe and hadn't been cleaned for months i ventured into the bush where i found a patch to squat myself. Not only was it searingly hot and uncomfortable, i had to use a large leaf for paper that turned out to have large red and black fierce ants on them (wonder how i found out) and upon falling backwards bottom's up almost in my own deposit a saw a scorpion pulling parts of an animal away.

[Mark Mardell | The Reporters] BBC - Mark Mardell's Euroblog: The euro: safety net or straitjacket?: Like almost 75% of Britons I was pleased to see a Paris-Berlin-Rome axis as opposed to their disastrous previous 100 years of hostility in which Britons, Americans and Colonial forces always spilled blood to settle issues. I did not vote 'For' Fiscal-Industrial-Social-Judicial-Military annexation of the UK by the EUrotocracy of Brussels.
