Measures to maintain and increase revenues from tourism - {Travel ...

[TravelDailyNews.com] The tourism sector forms 15% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the measures to successfully fight the crisis need to be aimed at preserving and increasing these profits, Irina Naydenova, Chair of the Bulgarian Tourism Agencies Association explained, adding that such goal could be reached by increasing the resources for tourist advertisement and complex programs to improve the quality of services in the sector.

Romania: Room to Grow

[Balkanalysis.com] A recent report by the World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC) said Romania’s tourism sector was the sixth fastest-growing in the world, with tourism-derived revenues increasing by 8.1% in 2007 and expected to expand by 9.3% this year.However, despite the positive headline, the WTTC report made it clear the Romanian tourist industry has some distance to go simply to reach regional standards, let alone compete on a global scale.

Iran-Romania Tourism Company to be launched

 [www.irtat.ir] Twp professors from Bucharest University along with Romania ambassador visited Iran in order to identify Iran's Tourism condition. They announced that the pre image they have had about Iran has been totally changed and they have found Iran a unique tourism destination especially for cultural tours.

Two million euro for making Romania a tourism brand

 [Romania real estate by Romanian Properties Ltd] Tourism Ministry state secretary Lucia Morariu claims that Romania has 75 million euro allocated for promoting tourism projects, within the Regional Operational Program, but the state has to pay for the projects first, then the discount from EU funds can be made. According to Morariu, the new branding initiative has nothing to do with the previous attempts: “In case the brand we create is successful, this will also influence the country brand”.
